National Health Equity Grand Rounds: Breaking Down the Ivory Tower

The AMA’s National Health Equity Grand Rounds is a virtual quarterly series that looks to deepen understanding and shape the national discourse around health inequities and opportunities to improve the health of our nation.

The event on Aug. 8, 2023, features speakers who will challenge the audience to address academic elitism in health education, reimagining an educational system that supports all students and trainees as they learn to care for a diverse patient population. The event takes place from 1-2:30 p.m. Central.

Within the context of the historical and contemporary forces that have shaped the current medical workforce landscape in the U.S., our speakers will elevate strategies for addressing the long-standing underrepresentation of historically excluded populations in clinical programs.
